What's a Green Pea Cookie?

by The Green Pea Cookie Team February 02, 2015

"What the heck is a green pea cookie?"

Glad you asked! Green pea cookies are a delicate balance of roasted green peas, a spot of sugar, flour (or a gluten-free rice flour substitute), organic sunflower oil and a little bit of salt. 100% vegan and only 100 calories in 6 cookies! They're savory and sweet at the same time and they're crunchy and crumbly, too. "Pea cookie" sounds like "tea cookie" for a reason. Have some with your tea!

We've heard they taste like shortbread, they taste like Mexican Wedding Cookies or Peanut Butter Cookies, or that they taste like those snap pea crisps you can buy at Trader Joes - only sweeter and in delectable cookie form. We have also heard they taste like pistachio cookies.  Never have had a pistachio cookie, but if they were not green, no one would say that.

"But wait... a vegetable is not a cookie..."

If you hate peas, or if you tend to reject vegetable flavored desserts, you'd probably still enjoy these cookies. Promise :)
